If you've just bought an electric vehicle, or you're thinking about one, charging at home is the easiest way to live with it. A Level 2 charger can fill most batteries overnight, so you wake up ready to go.
What affects the cost
- Your panel. Many homes have room for a new 240-volt circuit. Older or full panels may need an upgrade first.
- Distance. The farther the garage is from your panel, the more wire and labor it takes.
- Charger type. You can go with a simple NEMA 14-50 outlet, or a hardwired wall charger with Wi-Fi and scheduling.
- Permit and inspection. We handle this so it's done right and to code.
Outlet or hardwired?
An outlet works well and keeps things flexible. A hardwired charger is tidier, often charges a bit faster, and is a good fit if you plan to keep the car parked in one spot for years.
Ways to save
